Spread the Love

Hi, Hey, Hello!

I was tagged by Adele to do this tag and well there is no such thing as spreading too much love in the world. So I quite happily accept this tag. (Although seriously I am such a rambler how am I supposed to use only 4 words per sentence…? Side note, I was always terrible at reaching word counts when I was writing essays though so my relationship with word restrictions is a complex one.)

The rules

  1. Write 10 four-word sentences about what love means to you
  2. Share your favourite quote on love
  3. Nominate 10 other bloggers to join in

Love Is:

1) Being content doing nothing

2) Good food and drink

3) Random early morning conversations

4) Small acts of selflessness

5) Becoming happy with yourself

6) Movie marathons and sleepovers

7) Really good song lyrics

8) Being there for each other (sorry I needed an extra word…)

9) Passion in someone’s eyes

10) Weirdly, really good hugs (when I say weirdly I mean for me)

Now the ‘favourite quote about love’ thing is hard because I love, love, love words and it is hard for me to narrow it down to just one of my favourite combinations of the English language. Shakespeare talks a lot of sense when he talks about love and then there are the little almost throwaway sentences about love in a lot of literature, the kind that don’t really hit you until you’ve already read them and then when you think about them properly it sums things up perfectly. (For example, “Have you ever been in love? Horrible isn’t it? It makes you so vulnerable. It opens your chest and it opens up your heart and it means that someone can get inside you and mess you up.”, Neil Gaiman, The Sandman)

But if we are talking one of my all time favourites at this present moment in time as I talk about love quotes at 12:12 (ish) on the 27/03/15 (I have scheduled this, helps to free up some time and do other things) it is this:

“I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where. I love you simply, without problems or pride: I love you in this way because I do not know any other way of loving but this, in which there is no I or you, so intimate that your hand upon my chest is my hand, so intimate that when I fall asleep your eyes close.”

Pablo Neruda, 100 Love Sonnets.

I hereby nominate the following bloggers to spread some love should they wish to:

1) Thistles and Whistles

2) Orange Owl Diaries

3) Jumbleskine

4) Gen

5) B.D

6) Lili’s Cakes

7) Seth

8) Emma

9) Grasping for Words

10) Ella

I liked spreading the love. Hope you enjoyed reading this, link your posts in the comments section or just talk about what love is to you, I would love to read them!

Parentheses count: 6. See you on Sunday, I might finally review some books!

Sophie, twenty-something, avid reader, writer, really good at watching whole seasons of TV shows in one weekend and using 10 words where 5 will do, overzealous user of the ellipsis and parentheses, starts too many sentences with ‘and’ and ‘so’, living in a continual state of Wanderlust.
