Letters to Autumn 15

Letters to Autumn 15

Dear Autumn,

We are somehow half way through the month. What?

There have been some definite clear changes this past week as well that has come with the passing of time. The sun is no longer setting as I make my walk down the hill because the deep purple has already settled in. My scarf has finally made a reassuring reappearance in my life and I am oh so happy about that. That can only mean one thing, my winter coat(s) is going to make a comeback.

There is a chill in the air now. Sitting on trains with open doors on platforms causes goosebumps to prickle under clothes and a longing for the insular feeling of a packed train (that never happens, rush hour trains are just something else) because at least it means that the cold isn’t being let in. The knitwear is out though, oh how I am enjoying the comfort of massive, soft jumpers that I can burrow in to keep out the chill for the whole day.

Another thing I am ever more aware of as we slide past the halfway part of the month is all the Halloween chocolate. I mean, I am indifferent to the occasion largely speaking, but I do love all the chocolate that comes with. Pumpkin shaped peanut buttercups, I am coming for you.

  1. There has been such a notable difference in the past 2 weeks! I do love all of the jumpers, scarfs, coats, boots etc. that come with the change of the season too. 🙂

    1. I was freezing this morning, it has somehow come out of nowhere despite my being prepared for it because it’s October. I have never been more grateful for a scarf in my life haha! x
