3 People

Hi, Hey, Hello!

I am putting a creative spin on today’s prompt which is: Write about 3 people who have made a difference in your life this year.

To the woman who helped shield me against the bright lights when they caught me off guard when I was stepping out a shop. Thank you for letting me use the big black bag that you were lugging all your stuff around in the city for my own personal gain. Thank you for not judging in any way but just looking at a person in a situation they didn’t want to get caught in and helping them get out of it. Thank you for the reassuring hand that you placed on my shoulder and for not telling me that it was going to be okay. Thank you for waiting with me while I calmed myself down and backed away from the brink of a panic attack. Thank you for the chocolate and the piece of gum and the sincere way you double checked that I was okay before you left to go back about your day. Thank you for taking the time to do something you didn’t have to do and I’m sorry for the flashing lights.

To the boy who looked me dead in the eye and told me that I had saved his life in some manner. Thank you for reminding me of why I do what I do. Thank you for taking the time out to tell me that because it is easy to get disillusioned sometimes when everything seems to move in a continual cycle that can only move forward or you get left behind. As silly as it sounds, thank you for not being scared to admit freely to what you like and shout about how it makes you feel. Thank you for the inspiration and I’m sorry that you got to a point where you ever felt like you needed saving like that in the first place.

And finally, to the girl who just wanted the noise to pass and opened the door for me. Thank you. What I am thanking you for yet I’m not 100% sure. But thank you for pulling me out of that situation. Thank you for not being like the ones that you pulled me away from. Thank you for putting a small of trust in me and not wondering instantly what else you could get from me. Thank you for reminding me that there are people who don’t have ulterior motives when it comes to wanting to talk to me. Thank you for saying yes to me and I hope that you won’t look back on that decision one day and regret it.

So, I may have told a little lie when I said I was done with them for the year…it just happened. I was staring at my screen ready to type and this was all that came to me. So I went with it…yeah. Now they are done for the year (although this was only one, and it’s not even the one I usually write as).

Parentheses count: 1. See you tomorrow!
