Playlists

December Playlist

Hi, Hey, Hello!

Yes this playlist is coming earlier than usual this month but that’s because Christmas is next weekend so…

Anyway you know the drill, I’ll just get on with it.

1) I Know What You Did Last Summer – Shawn Mendes and Camilla Cabello

I was trawling The Late Late Show YouTube channel one night, as I am prone to do, when I ended up clicking on this video and it’s a tune. Me likey very much.

2) In2 – WSTRN

Ya know I don’t actually know if I like this song. I mean I can bop to it which is great. But I honestly don’t know if I like it anymore. I think I did at one point, but due to repeat exposure it is reaching a point where I think I am finding it kind of grating…I dunno. It has featured heavily in my life these past few weeks, so I guess it should be included.

3) You Don’t Own Me – Grace

This is on a Christmas advert, so I am hearing it a lot (thanks House of Fraser). The original also happens to be one of R’s jams so I am well acquainted with it as a whole. But I like the little modern update on it and Grace’s vocals are stellar.

4) Broadway Here I Come – Jeremy Jordan

Look I am just warning you the next 3 songs (and I narrowed it down to 3, which was hard) include this man because it was almost like I have only just remembered that he can sing or something (he’s in Supergirl I am very aware of him as an actor). Which is ridiculous given that Smash was the reason I became aware of him in the first place because the second he opened his mouth to sing this song I was done. Like well and truly flattened in awe of his voice. And that feeling comes back in waves whenever I end up on YouTube and clicking through countless videos of him singing virtually anything. He could sing the phonebook and I would be like “this is a masterpiece”

5) Santa Fe – Jeremy Jordan

I like Newsies just fine. It’s great. Christian Bale does a bang up job. However I will eternally be a little bit sad (as I always am with Broadway shows) that I never got to see his Jack. But I have this, and it’s great.

6) I’ve Told You Now – Jeremy Jordan

How do you make a Sam Smith Song even more emotional? Get Jeremy Jordan to sing it (they are actually still pretty equal, but hey ho). I both love and hate the way he is just in a performance the second the music starts because it just makes you feel all the things. I first listened to this when I was supposed to be getting ready to go to bed and I had to put that off and just bask in how awesome this was.

7) Work Song – Hozier

I have been listening to everything that I have downloaded this year this month and I forgot about this gem of a song. I mean I loved that whole album, which I probably mentioned at the time, but it had somehow escaped my memory that this was my stand out song off of it because there were just so many great ones. But I have been remembering it and this song is everything.

8) Confident – Demi Lovato

Nothing is wrong with it and I love this song.

9) Get Out While You Can – James Bay

I don’t know why this has never shown up on one of these before…like it’s my favourite song off the album (again a hard thing to choose because they are all so good). But yeah James Bay is always a good shout.

10) I’m Gonna Getcha Good – Shania Twain

The other day (sometime in late November) I remembered the gift that was Shania’s Twain’s music (I have done this before) and I got overwhelmingly happy about it. There are so many good songs to choose from, but I am gonna go with this one to end this month’s playlist on a high.

And that is another playlist down and my penultimate one of the year. Whaaaattt???

Parentheses count: 8. See you tomorrow!
