Hi, Hey, Hello!
I mentioned yesterday that I had one final playlist to come and this is it. It’s Christmas themed obviously because it is officially Christmas week.
Oh yeah, happy Monday people!
1) Fairytale of New York – The Pogues and Kirsty McCall
It’s a classic. It just has that Christmassy vibe to it, whilst also not being too Christmassy, meaning that it is totally fine to listen to it when you’re more Scrooge then Saint Nick.
2) All I Want For Christmas is You – Mariah Carey
Look it was never gonna take long for this to show up like seriously. I know there were songs before it, but this is like the classic. I mean the second you hear that opening it is Christmas
3) Feliz Navidad – Jose Feliciano
I listen to the Scott Mills show daily and for some reason they are obsessed with this song and as a consequence it puts me right in the Christmas spirit.
4) Wrap Myself in Paper – Magnus Carlsson
This song is only good for a week and a day in the lead up to the 25th so I really like to appreciate it. I mean it’s not very good is it? I can see that. But I don’t care, who doesn’t love a bit of cheese?
5) One More Sleep – Leona Lewis
This should be a classic. One day people will be like “yes, when I hear that Leona Lewis song I know Christmas is almost here”. It’s so good. Plus Leona’s voice is always a dream.
6) O Holy Night – Lea Michele
I love Lea’s voice so much and she is the reason that this song is even on this playlist because otherwise I am pretty indifferent to this song. But this vocal, good god. I love it.
7) I Wish it Could be Christmas Everyday – Wizzard
I mean I don’t. That would get exhausting. But it does get you in the spirit when you need to.
8) 8 Days of Christmas – Destiny’s Child
Look this song is not that great. I know that. However I have to say it is a bit of bop and I have been known to rewind it if I miss the beginning…No regrets, just love. Or just some kind of love.
9) White Christmas – Michael Buble and Shania Twain
Christmas is kind of not Christmas anymore without a little bit of Buble. And this song comes with bonus Shania, which if you didn’t notice yesterday I love me some Shania. Put them both together and you get a dream combo for me (except no thank you, I am not dreaming of a White Christmas…I cannot deal with the snow. Ever.).
10) Santa Baby – Eartha Kitt
I just really love Eartha Kitt.
And that is a little insight into my Christmas playlist for the week. There are so many others that haven’t made the list because I wanted to stick to 10 this time or risk it getting completely out of hand (a la the ‘musicals’ playlist).
I hope you enjoy the playlist and enjoy your week. This will post when I am close to getting to lunch so I’m gonna trot off and start doing allllll the eating soon!
Parentheses count: 2. See you tomorrow!
