April Playlist

April Playlist

Hi, Hey, Hello!

It’s playlist time of the month, and I am finding that kind of hard to believe because that means that the month is almost over and it honestly feels like it has only just begun. And yet…

1) Drink You Away – Justin Timberlake

I have been on a bit of a Timberlake thing recently because I am missing him and therefore have been immersing myself in his back catalogue. Mainly Part 2 of the 20/20 Experience because it has some incredibly good songs, this was the first one that I just kept playing on repeat for an entire train journey home. That’s a 30 minute trip.

2) Something That We’re Not – Demi Lovato

Demi is kind of one of the most solid pop albums that there is. And again I have only just had a bit of a resurgence with it, because I have been in a bit of a rut with things musically speaking and therefore am just going back through all the old (ish) albums on my iTunes. This is a total stand out on an album where there are a lot of great songs.

3) You Can’t Win – Kelly Clarkson

Kelly Clarkson is always a winner. I don’t think there is a single song of hers that I am not completely enamoured with. This is one of those songs that just speaks to me because it is so damn accurate.

4) War Of Hearts/Monsters – Ruelle

When TV shows give me new artists to devour I fall in love with them a little bit more. My past week has just been spent listening to these two songs (and one other, that will come in about 4 songs)  on near constant repeat. And I keep saying that I will stop listening to it and then the beginning comes back on and I’m listening to it again. Can’t bring myself to care either. They are so good.

5) Close – Nick Jonas ft Tove Lo

And Nick Jonas comes at it again with a total banger. I was pretty much sold by this song the second the lyrics started up. And then Tove Lo’s verse started at it just got even better. And yeah, I am very much here for it.

6) Silence – Romans (Aluna George Edit)

This was kind of a late entry into the playlist, because I was just living my life when all of a sudden this came on and it just stumped me because it’s so good. And I was left with no choice but to put it on the list.

7) Pay My Rent – DNCE

And here is an appearance of another Jonas brother. The Swaay EP entered my life this month after I finally decided to get Cake by the Ocean on a very regular rotation in my life and downloaded it. I went with the whole EP in the end and dare I say it, I think I prefer this to CBTO. I don’t know what it is about it, but it just makes me want to dance (fitting given their name).

8) Magnetised – Tom Odell

Okay, so I am super happy that Tom Odell is back with new music. Because while the stuff that exists is great and I still love it, new stuff is always good. And this was an instant hit with me.

9) Flawless – Beyoncé and  Nicki Minaj

And here is the other song that I have listened to on complete repeat for the past week. I loved it when it came out, but for some reason recently it was like I heard it for the first time all over again and fell straight back in love with it. And then repeated it until the point that I have the whole thing committed to memory. And I mean the whole thing. It’s one of my proudest achievements of recent times tbh.

10) A.D.I.D.A.S – Little Mix

I don’t know why but this week I have listened to this song a lot as well. My week has basically been 4 songs on loop. I haven’t listened to this quite as much as the other three but it’s up there. I wouldn’t even say it’s my favourite song off Get Weird but there you go. It’s made up my month musically speaking.

bonus 11) Purple Rain – Prince

I mean it could have been any one of his songs, but I watched The Colour Purple tribute and it became the only one that I could pick. Yeah.
