Playlists

June Playlist

Hi, Hey, Hello!

I missed May’s playlist for two reasons one, I wasn’t in the mood and two, I’ve listened to pretty much the same songs for months now out of habit and anything that was new I sort of didn’t register properly. But I’m back now and I have become very obsessed with quite a few songs recently.

1) Kiwi – Harry Styles

I love the whole album, but this was and is my stand out from the whole thing. I am so obsessed with it. It was on repeat for a very long time.

2) Land of Lola – Kinky Boots

You know me, I am always looking for a new cast recording to fall in love with and Kinky Boots is the most recent one. This song makes me feel some kind of way and I am totally in love with it.

3)  Crying in the Club – Camila Cabello

I was indifferent to this song when I first heard it but now it is sort of my jam. The vibe of it is so good and it has Genie in a Bottle undertones, which means I am totally here for it, obviously.

4) Bad Liar – Selena Gomez

Again I was so indifferent to this song until about listen 4 or 5 and now I am fully on board. That bass line…thank you Talking Heads.

5) Walking the Wire – Imagine Dragons

Evolve came out on Friday so that is on current rotation in my life right now but this is so far my fave song off it (behind Believer, but I’ve been listening to that for months now). It just reminds me of why I fell in love with Imagine Dragons in the first place. So good.

6) Champion – Fall Out Boy

Shout out to Fall Out Boy for making songs that speak to my soul for over a decade now. This song seems to be everything that I needed right now. I get more and more excited for their new album to drop with each passing day.

7) Secrets and Lies – Ruelle

I love Ruelle. I am already here for her new EP and it’s not even dropped yet, but this song is just…stunning. I love it. The lyrics are beautiful. There is just something so haunting about it. And long lasting.

8) Heaven in Hiding – Halsey

Someone dropped a new album recently that was conceptually based on Romeo and Juliet and someone else fell in love with it really quickly. And this was the song with which it happened.

9) Don’t Play – Halsey

You know when a song just gets you. This is that song for me. I’ve had a mentally exhausting few months and I am finally making some headway with it and coming out on the other side and this song just sort of sums up my attitude to things now.

10) Angel on Fire – Halsey

For a different reason this song also resonates with me. Although it didn’t until I listened to it when I was slightly tipsy and emotions just poured of me and the lyrics to this song hit a little too close to home. It’s a really fucking great song. I think overall it’s my favourite from the whole album.

11) Despactio – Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber

This song just bangs. And also, shout out to my A Level standard Spanish for enabling me to actually learn the words to this song.

12) Wild Thoughts – DJ Khaled, Rihanna and Bryson Tiller

And I leave you with my summer jam.

Parentheses count: 1. See you tomorrow!
