December Playlist

December Playlist

Hi, Hey, Hello!

So I know technically there is still one final Sunday left of this year, however that last Sunday is Christmas Day and so the playlist is coming a tad earlier. And is also my final playlist of the year…that seemed to come by fast. Expect Christmas songs and random songs galore because that’s what this month is really isn’t it?

1) Get Over It – Ok Go

I heard this by chance on the radio the other day and I had forgotten all about it. So I gave it a search and listened to again. And again. And again. And then I rediscovered Ok Go’s back catalogue and had a listen of that.

2) You’re Welcome  – Dwayne Johnson

Moana is very high up on my list of films to watch as soon as I can and as such for some reason this is the only song that I am letting myself listen to. I don’t know why, maybe it’s because it’s The Rock rapping or maybe it’s because I can’t know that there is something written by Lin-Manuel Miranda and not have it in my life just a little bit.

3) Lookin’ Like That – Jordan Fisher

I’ve been on a bit of a Jordan Fisher thing again recently, mirroring the same thing I did back at the beginning of the year when I saw him in Grease: Live. So I have now had his EP on repeat for days and this is maybe just about my favourite on it. It’s a hard shout, but I’m calling it this at the moment.

4) Touch – Little Mix

I hated this song when I first listened to the whole of Glory Days, but then randomly one day I listened to the acoustic version and fell in love with the harmonies. My gosh can this band harmonise. And then I saw it on The X Factor last Sunday and grew to like it a little bit more and so over the course of this week it has become my jam.

5) Redbone – Childish Gambino

Ugh Childish Gambino. I love him. This song was an instant hit with me. Instant. I love hearing it when it’s on the radio, and I am so excited to finally getting around to listening to the whole album.

6) Underneath the Tree – Kelly Clarkson

The first Christmas song on the list today and an underrated Christmas song if you ask me. I also actually forgot about it until it came up the other day until my phone was being used to play Christmas songs in the office. And it’s really good. And also it’s Kelly Clarkson. What’s not to love?

7) Brooklyn – Fickle Friends

This was a track of the day at some point last week on Radio 1 (I think it was Tuesday, but I honestly cannot remember, the last week just sort of blurred into one, something to do with it being the end of the year almost) and I instantly fell in love with it. It has all the components of a great song and with every listen it just gets better.

8) 2 Become 1 – Spice Girls

I love the fact that this is considered a Christmas song…And also it’s the Spice Girls. Always got to love any reason you can take to listen to the Spice Girls.

9) Driving Home for Christmas – Chris Rea

For some reason this song seems to keep coming up at work at the moment. It’s also the first line only and once that is uttered the whole song ends up in my head. Again, it is probably to do with the fact that the work year is coming to an end and well Christmas is a week away now…

10) Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas – Frank Sinatra

And I leave you with this today.

Parentheses count: 1. See you tomorrow!
