Native – 6 Months On

Hi, Hey, Hello!

So it you cast your mind back to some time during the spring I changed to a natural deodorant.

It’s been like 6 months now. Or thereabouts at least, so where am I at with it?

First of all since the last time I spoke about this I have only made one other purchase, it was the autumn scents pack. I didn’t need to make a purchase until September or October. These have some serious lasting power. I think one bar lasts about two months with daily usage (sometimes twice daily) and so that means that it is way more cost effective then my spray on which I went through every 3 to 4 weeks.

Also I get to vary the scents that I use a lot more than I did with my spray on. In the one that worked for me there were two scents and they smelled almost identical to one another. I am very easily bored when it comes to scents and things and so the fact that mine now changes every two months is really damn great.

I officially no longer really think about the potential of any B.O or anything because the detox period is well and truly over. I will say though that a thorough, thorough, maybe more thorough than you think, put clean is necessary because it’s not an anti-perspirant. So although you don’t necessarily smell, you still sweat and when you sweat as much as I do that could almost cause a problem. But basic hygiene is sufficient.

Here’s my main gripe with it though and to be honest it is kind of minor because in the grand scheme of things it’s not that bad, nor is it really that consistent, but this stuff pits t-shirts like you would not believe. I think it is worse on super dark colours like black or grey, which is whatever, but about 80% of my clothing is black or grey. I have a colour scheme that works for me and I ain’t changing it. For the most part it is just the inside of all my t-shirts so I don’t really care that much. But it is low key impressive just how white the marks are. Washing them doesn’t necessarily make it better, for a couple of them it has made it worse. But like I said, it’s the inside of them so it’s not the end of the world, especially now when I’m pretty much then just throwing jumpers on over my t-shirts. Come back to me when this season ends…

I was a convert back when I first started using it but at this point, where it is second nature now I can’t see myself ever really turning back. I can get used to the fact that it pits all my dark clothes. I think. For now, while it’s just doing that on the inside where no one but me can see them.

Still would 10/10 recommend.

Parentheses count: 1. See you Monday!
