My Life

Questions to Ponder Pt 1

Hi, Hey, Hello!

Apparently I’m in a ‘descend into a existential crisis’ kind of mood and the next 5 posts (excluding Friday and Saturday) will reflect this. I saw this post the other day which in turn led me to this post and well I have a pocket of posts that I don’t have scheduled yet so I latched onto this, which should be interesting.

1. How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are?

Oh I don’t know about 50…no I really don’t know. There is a part of me that very much still feels like my age, but then I realise that my idea of a perfect weekend is just sitting in my house eating. I almost never leave the house. I somehow end up making my weekends sound more exciting than they are, but really I am such a recluse. I don’t know if that says anything about my age and more to do with the type of person that I am…

2. Which is worse, failing or never trying?

Never trying. And me saying that with such assertion is hilarious because I have a huge fear of failing and am really good at procrastinating things. But yet, I will say that answer without fail each time.

3. If life is so short, why do we do so many things we don’t like and like so many things we don’t do?

Because the human brain is a funny thing.

4. When it’s all said and done, will you have said more than you’ve done?

Probably. See above about me being a procrastinator with a fear of failure.

5. What is the one thing you’d most like to change about the world?

Oh I don’t know, I’ve honestly not given that much thought to it because…little cog, big machine…

6. If happiness was the national currency, what kind of work would make you rich?

7. Are you doing what you believe in, or are you settling for what you are doing?

Oh I’m very aware of which I am doing, but small changes are being made but yeah I know which one I’m doing.

8. If the average human life span was 40 years, how would you live your life differently?

I’d probably travel a bit more.

9. To what degree have you actually controlled the course your life has taken?

About 50% I guess. I mean I made a lot of active choices, but there are some things that I just don’t have control of.

10. Are you more worried about doing things right, or doing the right things?

About doing things right. Even if there is no apparent right way to do something, seriously do not underestimate that earlier fear of failure.

And that’s part 1 done, part 2 will come tomorrow and then shall be continued on Sunday.

Parentheses count: 2. See you tomorrow!
