Hi, Hey, Hello!
It’s no secret that I bloody love me a Netflix binge. And I’ve done a lot of that over the past few months because it’s winter and who has the time to be outside and being social when it’s so damn cold and windy out is just dumb.
And so here are some the things that I have been watching over the past couple of months, and also I need recommendations, I’m finding all the options available to me whenever I go on my Netflix homepage a little overwhelming and if I can have that shit narrowed down it will be all the better.
But anyway, back to what I was talking about, here is a list of all the things that I have been watching recently, and if you ever want a sign that I am all over the place when it comes to my likes, then this list is proof.
1) Happy Valley
I just finished season 2 of this yesterday, I love it. It’s heavy though. Almost non-stop heavy. But it’s gripping and I was supposed to be a little bit more disciplined with it then I was.
2) One Day At A Time
I also watched this at the weekend. It consumed my Saturday afternoon. Again, I was supposed to be disciplined with it but I love it so much and then BAM I was almost crying my way through the final episode.
3) The Good Place
It took me a while to get into this, but once I did it’s proven to be just what I need. It’s not gone to that point where I am at the new episodes weekly thing and so I just leave it for a few weeks and then watch a few of them at once.
4) The Punisher
This show is so intense and so I reached saturation with it and just couldn’t make it through the last two episodes, so they are still there just waiting for me. I feel ready for them so that’s coming.
I also started this at the weekend. Apparently I just wanted heavy things after spending my Saturday afternoon mostly laughing. The soundtrack to this is killer, the content is brutal
5) Grace and Frankie
I am halfway through this because I have actually been disciplined with this one and am rationing it properly. Although I imagine I am going to give up on that one real quick and I can see blitzing through the rest of it coming soon.
6) Stranger Things
I fell out of the mood of being in the need for sci-fi and so this sort of fell off my priority list. Again, I’m feeling the itch to finish it so I will. I’ve only got 4 episodes left
7) Black Mirror
The advertising for season 4 was everywhere in a train station and it did the job of piquing my interest. And then also almost everyone and their dog has seen this. But I will tell you that the reason I started this last week was because Daniel Kaluuya got an Oscar nomination and I wanted to see it properly, because I’ve only seen his final monologue before. I get the hype with this show tbh.
8) Friends from College
I watch this in bursts. I don’t actually know if I like it or not. At this point I am just watching it still because I love Keegan Michael-Key and Cobie Smulders.
I could talk about this show for so long. It’s a slow burn. A super slow burn. But it is so good. The final episode is so good. I loved how contained it was in terms of story and how it wove together and how it was just allowed to breathe. So many shows I watch are just go go go, this is not.
Okay I watched this on my TV but I’ve watched all 3 seasons available to me now. I watched this for about 8 hours at one point over Christmas and regretted nothing. I mean I had intended to wash my hair that day, but they just auto-played and it got me every time.
I’ve started this and I think I am liking it so far, but I’m only a couple of episodes in because it fell into the sci-fi ish genre that I was not in the mood for.
This is also heavy and I’m in mostly for Jonathan Groff. Or at least I was. But then I watched about 5 episodes in a couple of days and now I’m in it for the story. It takes a lot out of you to be honest because you’re kind of in the head of serial killers and that knows how to fuck with a person.
13) Brooklyn 99
I stopped watching season 4 halfway through when it was on my TV and it turns out that I watched more of it then I thought I had, but I watched the second half of that season again in an evening.
14) Big Mouth
This show was hilarious. It was just what I needed. It was also super relevant and it felt super relatable.
15) She’s Gotta Have It
Again, I watched this whole thing in less than a week. It was so relatable. I felt so many of the things that it was talking about deep in my soul. Also Dewanda Wise. My gosh.
Special shout out to Step Sisters, which I also watched over the weekend. And I am also a portion of the way through The Circle as well. I don’t tend to watch as many films.
As you can see I’ve got a lot/had a lot on my viewing plate. I feel like at some point last year I said that I was going to try and stop watching multiple things at once and do it one and a time. Yeah, that was a lie. What I am going to do is finish everything that is currently half watched in my life (there are more that haven’t made the list because I haven’t watched some of them in so long, like months so long) before I delve into new ones completely.
That might also be total bullshit, we’ll see.
Oh and also, I feel like there are for sure shows missing from this list because I have a problem.
What have you been watching? I’m serious about the recommendations, although I really shouldn’t be.
