The Next 6 Weeks

Hi, Hey, Hello!

Last year, mainly just to get a post up and give the illusion that I had my shit together, I started writing up mini versions of my reading list that I wanted to get through in a vague period of time (like summer or autumn…).  I found that it helped me focus on what I was reading a little more because I wasn’t so overwhelmed by ALL the possibilities, just some of them.

And so, in keeping with that and because this year’s list is a tad larger than last years I’ve decided I’m going to keep that up. Now if I had been super well organised I would have done some maths about this all, because as I mentioned in my goals post even though it’s technically 65 books I want to read this year, I’m kind of going for 70, so that I know just how many books I need to read per month in order to actually get this done. But I wasn’t because doing too much maths hurts my head and so I am going with my current average which is about a book a week and then adding two because sometimes I get through a book quicker than I was expecting.

I am aware that that should therefore be 8 books, but there will be 9 books on here because I have a feeling there are a couple on there that I will read kinda quickly (and started reading books on this list on Tuesday).

So anyway, on with the list of books I want to get read before March:

1) The Girl of Ink and Stars – Kiran Millwood Hargrave

I gave into buying this book because of the hype in the Waterstones I was in, time to find out what it was all about. The cover is so pretty and I’ve heard a lot of good things about it so I am excited to jump right on in.

2) Postcards from the Edge – Carrie Fisher

I don’t know why I’m listing this so high in the year because part of me wants to put reading them off as long as possible. But here it is.

3) Rebel of the Sands – Alwyn Hamilton

I’m hoping I time this right so that that I can just read the series straight through once the third one has been published.

4) Traitor to the Throne – Alwyn Hamilton

Obviously the second one would be here.

5) Hero at the Fall – Alwyn Hamilton

And it’s a trilogy so here we are with that one.

6) Shockaholic – Carrie Fisher

I am apparently just going to go through 2 of the 3 books that I have from her in this period of time.

7) Now I Rise – Kiersten White

I want to get back to this story so badly, I don’t even care that I will have to wait until the third one is released later in the year to finish it.

8) Eat, Pray, Love – Elizabeth Gilbert

There was just a part of me that felt like this had to be a front end of the year thing.

9) All That She Can See – Carrie Hope Fletcher

The paperback was being advertised on the Waterstones website (it has green sprayed edges, so guess what I’ve got on pre-order…) and so it put it back on my radar.

And those’s are the books that I plan to read over the next 6 weeks. Or at least intend to, but if I don’t, well they’ll still be there come March. I’m going through all the books that I currently have in my possession because I don’t really want to think about the ones that I don’t. And I’m crossing off my first series’ of the year, which I think will be quite a nice feeling.

Parentheses count: 1. See you tomorrow!
